INDEPENDENCE DAY : A PROUD NATION

“Our efforts today will pave the path for a glorious tomorrow. We have created India, now all we need to do is to create Indians.”

On behalf of IBS, we congratulate all the Indians on this special occasion; Happy 77th Independence Day.

Celebrating India’s Journey & Freedom

As the sun rises on August 15th, India stands adorned in its vibrant tricolor, celebrating yet another year of freedom and progress. This Independence Day, we commemorate the struggles that led to our nation’s liberation and reflect on the milestones and the road ahead. India’s path to freedom was fraught with challenges, marked by the painful partition and the struggle for self-governance. Today, we stand united, reflecting on the sacrifices of luminaries like Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar, Rani Laxmibai, Jhalkari Bai, Chennamma, Begum Hazrat Mahal, and countless others. We honor the courage and celebrate their bravery that birthed a united, independent India.

At IBS, Independence Day isn’t just a holiday; it’s a celebration of our unity, diversity, and shared goals. We celebrate this day to embrace its lessons and apply them to our journey toward excellence. The flag-hosting ceremony signifies our respect for the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. The performances and parade embody discipline and symbolize harmony and synchrony as essential traits in academic and corporate life. At the same time, addressed by our respectable Dean, Director, and Student Club Coordinator, we recognize the significance of this day in shaping our values and principles to uphold our duties.

Empowering India: Victories, Challenges, and Tomorrow’s Promise

The resilience of the people, their unwavering determination, and the leadership of visionaries like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, C. Rajagopalachari, Savitribai Phule, Pandita Ramabai, Sarojini Naidu and many more shaped the destiny of the nation. India’s journey since 1947 has been a tale of victory as India has made remarkable strides from agrarian self-sufficiency to becoming a global IT hub. Our 3-stage nuclear power programme, largest single-site solar power project, and space program’s successes have showcased India’s potential. These achievements demonstrate our nation’s ability to innovate, adapt, and compete globally.

The future holds immense promise. India is the world’s largest democracy, with more than 1.2 billion of population. The country is showing strong endurance to external shocks and sustained economic growth, integrating into the global economy, fueled by government capex, robust investment in infrastructure, private consumption, strong service exports, and lower global commodity prices. Our initiatives like “Make in India” and “Digital India” propel us towards becoming a manufacturing and technology hub. A focus on quality education and skill development is shaping a capable workforce. India’s unprecedented growth with a growing middle-class income, dynamic startup ecosystem, renewable energy (green hydrogen sector), social entrepreneurship, and digital transformation can reshape our landscape. But as we stand at the cusp of the future, new emerging challenges like environmental sustainability, income inequality, and technological disruption demand our attention. Our population, a valuable resource, also poses a challenge if not harnessed effectively.

Embracing Unity, Vision, and Progress

As MBA students, we draw parallels between India’s struggle for freedom and our academic journey. Just as our leaders envisioned an independent India, we visualize our roles as future business leaders, and much like India’s defense forces exemplify unity, our position in the business world demands cohesive teamwork and strategic thinking.

Our leader’s resilience, perseverance, and vision inspire us to tackle challenges head-on, innovate, and lead with integrity. We honor this day not just through ceremonies but by embodying the spirit of progress, unity, and responsibility. Guided by the wisdom of our history and drawn by the promising horizons ahead, we stride confidently into a future that promises a more brilliant and prosperous India. Let’s march forward, inspired by the past, fueled by the present, and driven by the promise of a stronger, bolder, and wiser India, a more prosperous future – for ourselves and for the nation.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!
